I first heard this tune as a cover by Teenage Fanclub – look up that version as well if you like the tune. The Bevis Frond was a new one on me, so kudos to the fanclub for bringing Nick Saloman’s music to a wider audience….well ok, slightly wider 🙂
Nick has been making records since the eighties, a kind of psychedelic london-centric folk rock. I was originally really drawn to the lyrics of He’d Be a Diamond and then found myself humming it on the bus and fell in love with it.
For the record I have no idea what a bevis frond is.
