The 1976 album Joan Armatrading is an obvious classic and it’s been with me since I first started being aware of music. Raw and naked emotion in the lyrics, it’s impossible not to be moved. Every track on the album has its own story, Love and Affection was the big hit but I have a soft spot for Save Me.
